Buster Martin grew up in a Cornish Orphanage but was thrown out at the age of ten for ‘growing up to fast’. He headed to London and became a errand boy for a stall holder in a Brixton market.
He met his late wife Iriana in Tonbridge, Kent when she was twelve years old and they married a year later. At 14 Buster joined the British Army and served in world war 2 finally reaching the rank of regimental sergeant major. Buster now 102 still works three days a week. When asked the secret to a long life Buster suggests “keep breathing and always wake up in the mornings”
Buster also ran in the 2008 London Marathon.
